About
Our Story | Connect With Us
Kelly and I created Family Muscle after the encouragement of friends and fellow parents who followed our pattern of using Family Nights for fun, memories and faith building.
Our desire for Family Muscle is to join other parents with us in creating strong families. That is hard in today’s culture! The issues and challenges are large. Our time is short. We have just handful of years. I recently read, just 936 weeks from birth to high school graduation. So, we are convinced that we must be purposeful, fun and faith-focused with our kids. Hopefully, Family Muscle will help with that.
We will share simple plans on how you can have Family Nights that will turn into lasting memories with your children and make internal deposits of faith into their lives. Soon you will find what we have with our kids, they beg for when the next Family Night is coming.
Along with the Family Nights, we will be adding weekly posts of parenting resources, tips and conversations. As a family who is in pastoral ministry, we will connect with other leaders in Family Ministries to share insight and their expertise of serving families in the trenches. But, the real beauty of Family Muscle will come as you engage in the conversation—sharing what you did during your Family Nights and how others can benefit from your experience, contributing resources and tips you discover and adding to the conversation and encouragement we all need.

Our Story
I currently serve on the Senior Leadership Team for LifePoint Church as Executive Pastor of Worship Programming and Communications. I use my passion and gifts to craft the message and methods of our multi-site, missional church that currently has campuses in Smyrna, TN; Seattle, WA; Bangkok, Thailand; and Brussels, Belgium. Previous to this role I served as a Student Pastor for four churches and YoungLife.
Kelly is social worker who currently serves adoptive families through Adoption Assistance. In her work, she writes Homestudies for families and provides adoption education and counseling. Kelly has an extensive background in the social work and counseling field while balancing the demands of being a faithful mom and engaged in personal ministry at LifePoint.
Kelly and I have been married for 13 years and have three children in our home currently—Parker (9), Emery (7) and Bradley (5). Our family is also waiting for a referral to bring our second son home from Ethiopia by adoption. We recently crafted a family statement that says:
We are a spirited family who is focused on living out an authentic faith and creating a strong family. We place an emphasis on putting others first and influential, healthy relationships. We believe in strategic decisions that impact our family’s future and living out our strengths for God’s Glory, to display the joy of Christ and join God’s heart for the nations.
